There are layers of alleyways and tiny streets gathered around the Jemaa el-Fnaa, the main square of the “old city” in Marrakech.  Along each of them you will find a mind-blowing array of handmade items for sale.  The most striking thing is the color you will find displayed with such vibrancy.  The famous Parisian fashion designed Yves Saint Laurent made Marrakech his home and source of inspiration beginning in 1966 because he was so drawn to the beauty of the city itself and the exotic finds he discovered there.
