PARIS AS A COMFORTABLE SWEATER
It's begging to be explored...
This isn't my first rodeo, as they say. I've been to Paris more times than I can count and now the city feels like a comfortable sweater - familiar, worn in, fitting me just right. I finally feel like you could drop me anywhere in the city and I'd be able to make it back to my lodging without a hiccup. As much as I've begun to feel that the city is familiar, I've also begun to leave the map behind and just explore. I've had the opportunity to see the city through the eyes of so many different residents over the years. And I can say, the city has felt different with every person I've visited it with. Yet there is still this sense of familiarity, perhaps because of the deep cultural history that has taken place here.
I'd invite anyone traveling to Paris, to just orient yourself with a familiar landmark, and then let yourself wander. Don't check your map. Don't read all the reviews of the restaurants. Just let your gut guide you through the streets. Make the city yours.
